Beach Wedding Gowns
Good places to look for wedding gown for beach wedding?
I’m planning an informal wedding that will take place on a beach. We’re planning on going barefoot, and doing everything very simple. However, I have no idea what to look for as far as dresses go. Every website I go to seems to have these elaborate gowns. I want something long [not a fan of cocktail length dresses], but I don’t know where to begin…
A lot of designers are making dresses for informal weddings these days. Maggie Sottero has a line called Destinations, most of which are floor length with no train or with a small train.
David’s Bridal also has a line called Galina that is intended for informal weddings
I recently discovered that J. Crew makes wedding dresses, but I don’t know if you can only order them on line, or if there are stores where you can try them on. They are, again, mostly floor length with no train.
When I mentioned this discovery to someone, they suggested another line called The Cotton Bride. This is a line by the designer Nicole Miller and they are stunning. I was really surprised, since they are all made from cotton or a cotton blend.
If a designer dress isn’t in your budget, check out bridesmaid dresses. A lot of them come in white now. Again, the designers have realized that not everyone has $5K to spend on a wedding dress, and not everyone wants to look like Cinderella on their wedding day.
