What do you think of this dress for a wedding gown? Would a hoop skirt work well with it to make it less of a sheath/a-line and more like a ball gown? I want a ball gown that huge and ruffly and full of tulle but we can’t afford that right now.
What can I do? I love the lines and the back and the beading of this dress but I want the feel of a ballgown.
P.S. I’m a thicker girl, size 16-18, 5′6″, etc. Dunno if that’ll help or not
Ok, no, a hoop wouldn’t go with that style at all.
Plus, hoops are bad, I had a friend who married in one… It made sitting down almost an impossibility, and while she can look back on it and laugh now, at the time it wasn’t as glamorous as she wanted and as, from what description you gave, as you would want.
However, you can rent cheap petticoats from many, many places. Even costume hire places would work, and honestly, what’s under your dress doesn’t really matter (aside from lingerie, of course ;])
A full petticoat would be a lot nicer underneath it than a hoop, and a lot more comfortable for you.
